A gracious donor has established a generous scholarship fund at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. These funds are available during the 2022-2023 academic year. The selection factors are listed below:
- Applicants must be enrolled in the MD program at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
- Applicants must be the direct descendants of U.S. veterans of World War II who participated in the European Theatre. (At the request of the donor, the family member must be the student's parent, grandparent, or great-grandparent.)
- Applicants must submit documentation supporting the participation of the family member (i.e., discharge papers, etc.).
- Applicants must have demonstrated need.
All documentation should be submitted via email in PDF format. Interested parties are encouraged to submit a one- to two-page PDF (1000 word maximum) detailing his/her ancestors' participation within the war. This letter should be addressed to the Tauber Scholarship Committee. You are encouraged to provide as much information as possible with regard to family relationship and the actual details of the individual's participation. All supporting documentation should be attached with Tauber Scholarship; your name and GWID must be prominently displayed in the header of each page submitted.

Please note that the Tauber Scholarship Committee will award all scholarships. The actual time frame and dollar amounts have not been determined, but the awards may be very substantial. Students who are awarded the Tauber Scholarship in their first year will have it renewed for the following three years of study. No additional application is necessary. The amount of the award may change each year.
